Vice Rector for Academic Affairs address

King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals strives to be a leading institute in all academic activities. For this reason, the university continuously reviews and assesses its academic programs, and develops skills of academic excellence for all faculty and students to reach this goal.

This academic development will not be accomplished unless every member of the KFUPM community, whether he is a faculty member, an administrator, a student, or a staff member, participates in this development . For this purpose, this discussion board was launched. To make your contributions more focused, the discussion board has been divided into five communities:

• Academic Programs: The focus of discussion here is on academic related issues like curricula, textbooks, references and experiments.

• Academic Services: The focus of discussion here is on supporting academic services such as computing facilities, experimental setups, class rooms and audiovisual equipments.

• Faculty Members: The focus of discussion here is on faculty member related issues like development of academic excellence for faculty and sharing academic experience among faculty members.

• Students: The focus of discussion here is on student academic related issues like improving student learning and asking questions about student related academic regulations.

• Teaching: The focus of discussion here is on teaching methodology and how to improve teaching. E-learning and using smart class rooms in teaching are two examples.

In addition, participants can write directly to the vice rector for academic affairs to discuss any private issue.

كلمة وكيل الجامعة للشؤون الأكاديمية:

إن جامعة الملك فهد للبترول والمعادن تسعى دائماً لأن تكون في الصدارة ومواكبة ما يستجد من أمور في القضايا التعليمية والبحثية. لذا فإنها تقوم بمراجعة برامجها الأكاديمية وتقويمها، وتطوير مهارات منسوبيها من أعضاء هيئة التدريس والطلاب، بما يحقق الهدف المنشود.

إن التطوير الأكاديمي لا يتحقق إلا بمشاركة كافة منسوبي الجامعة سواء كانوا أعضاء هيئة التدريس أو طلاباً أو إداريين أو موظفين، لذا فقد تم فتح هذه الساحة لتبادل الآراء والخبرات بما يحقق المصلحة العامة.

 

يحتوي هذا المنتدى على خمس قاعات: 

1. قاعة البرامج الأكاديمية: وتعنى بشؤون البرامج الأكاديمية، وما يتعلق بها من مقررات دراسية وكتب ومراجع علمية وتجارب معملية.

2. قاعة الخدمات الأكاديمية: وتعنى بالخدمات المساندة للقضايا الأكاديمية مثل أجهزة الحاسب والتجهيزات المعملية، وتجهيزات الفصول الدراسية، والوسائل التعليمية السمعية والبصرية.

3. قاعة أعضاء هيئة التدريس: وتعنى بشؤون أعضاء هيئة التدريس، مثل سبل رفع كفاءة عضو هيئة التدريس، وتبادل الخبرات في هذا المجال.

4. قاعة الطلاب: وتعنى بقضايا الطلاب الأكاديمية، مثل سبل تحسين التحصيل الأكاديمي للطلاب، والاستفسار عن الأنظمة الأكاديمية المتعلقة بالطلاب.

5. قاعة التدريس: وتعنى بالأمور المتعلقة بطرق التدريس ووسائل تطويرها، مثل التعليم الالكتروني واستخدام الفصول الذكية في التدريس.

إضافة إلى هذه القاعات، يمكن الاتصال أو الكتابة مباشرة إلى وكيل الجامعة للشؤون الأكاديمية لطرح أي قضية أو شكوى خاصة.
