Early Registration Steps
Starting Saturday, 2nd May, 2009 (8:00 AM onwards) until Saturday, 16th May, 2009 (up to 3:00 PM)

  1. Study your degree plan before meeting your academic advisor.

  2. Meet with your advisee, discuss your plan, then fill and sign the Advising Worksheet. (If you do not know your academic advisor; click the Find Advisor link on http://regweb.kfupm.edu.sa, or you can get it from the Chairman or Advising Office).

  3. Make sure you get Advisor’s online approval prior to Early Registration
  4. Go to http://portal.kfupm.edu.sa or http://ssb.kfupm.edu.sa or http://regweb.kfupm.edu.sa to early register for courses during the designated period.
  • Students, who do not meet their Academic Advisors for their approval by Saturday, 16th May 2009 (up to 3:00 PM), will not be able to early register for the terms 083/091 as hold will be placed on their record.

Note:
Students who are registered in Coop program in term 082 are not required to get Advisor’s approval for early registration. However, we advise all Coop students to take this opportunity to contact their Advisors and discuss about the courses they intend to early register in terms 083/091.

Important:
Early registration hold will be placed on students who have “NO” in the Advisee list. The hold can be removed either thru academic advisor or Department Chairman (from 17th May, 2009 onwards).

Registration Violations by Students
 

Violation # 1:
Students do not confirm their registration on the Registration day.

Action Taken by the Office of the University Registrar:
Late registration fee will be levied (charged) from the students up to the last day for late registration. (It is the student's responsibility to check his email regarding confirmation status).

Violation # 2:
Student wants to register after the last day of late registration.

Action Taken by the Office of the University Registrar:
Student will not be registered for the term.

Violation # 3:
Register in courses having final exams at the same time.

Action Taken by the Office of the University Registrar:
Higher number (level) courses amongst the conflict courses will be dropped after the last day of adding courses.

Violation # 4:
Student registered in a lecture without its lab or vice versa
Action Taken by the Office of the University Registrar:
Course will be dropped.

Violation # 5:
Students registered in courses in addition to Co-op/Summer Training programs.

Action Taken by the Office of the University Registrar:
Courses other than the Co-op/Summer Training will be dropped after the last day of adding courses.

Violation # 6:
Student repeating courses in which they have previously obtained "C" or better grade

Action Taken by the Office of the University Registrar:
Course will be dropped after the last day of adding courses.

Violation # 7:
Students NOT on Good Standing status exceeding 13 credit hours in a regular semester or 7 credit hours in Summer Session

Action Taken by the Office of the University Registrar:
Higher number courses will be dropped until maximum load is reached after the last day for adding courses.

Violation # 8:
Undergraduate students registered less than 12 credit hours in a regular semester-under-load. (Student expected to graduate in that particular term and is left with less than 12 credit hours to complete graduation requirements are excluded from this rule)

Action Taken by the Office of the University Registrar:
All courses will be dropped after the last day for adding courses.

Violation # 9:
Student registered in "Waitlist" sections (Good standing students only)

Action Taken by the Office of the University Registrar:
Good standing students will be added to the course, if possible. (It is the student's responsibility to check his schedule regarding the waitlist courses)

Violation # 10:
Student requests to drop / withdraw course through the web after the last day of adding courses.

Action Taken by the Office of the University Registrar:
Courses will not be dropped / withdrawn if the request does not satisfy the requirement. (It is the student's responsibility to check his email/schedule regarding the drop/withdrawal request)

Violation # 11:
Student requests to drop all courses.

Action Taken by the Office of the University Registrar:
Courses will not be dropped until completed clearance form is submitted.

Violation # 12:
Student registers a course having specific restriction (Class level / Major / College etc.)

Action Taken by the Office of the University Registrar:
Student will continue in the course. Department Chairman with the concurrence of the College Dean can request to drop the student from the course.

Violation # 13:
Student registering in a course with co-requisite violation.

Action Taken by the Office of the University Registrar:
Student will continue in the course. Department Chairman with the concurrence of the College Dean can request to drop the course from the student 

Violation # 14:
Registering in courses outside the degree plan (Out-of-major courses).

Action Taken by the Office of the University Registrar:
All out-of-major courses (except one) will be dropped after last day for adding courses.

Violation # 15:
Junior student with remaining 100 level course(s) or senior student with remaining 100/200 level courses.

 

Action Taken by the Office of the University Registrar:
A registration hold will be placed on the student record to prevent registration confirmation.

Violation # 16:
A Junior student drops 100 level course(s) or a senior student drops 100/200 level courses during the Registration Week 

Action Taken by the Office of the University Registrar:
All courses will be dropped, after the last day for adding courses.

Violation # 17:
Graduate students taking lower than 300 level courses (other than Continuing Education students).

Action Taken by the Office of the University Registrar:
Lower than 300 level course(s) will be dropped after the last day for adding courses.

Violation # 18:
Undergraduate students taking Graduate Courses.

Action Taken by the Office of the University Registrar:
Graduate course(s) will be dropped after last day for adding courses.

Violation # 19:
Undergraduate students who have completed more than 15 regular terms and have still not graduated.

Action Taken by the Office of the University Registrar:
Student will continue in the course unless otherwise instructed by the Dean, Admissions & Registration.

Important Note:


  1. Student is fully responsible for all his registration actions and should ensure that his registration is not in violation of any of the above.
  2. Action will also be taken for some of the above registration violations after the Early Registration week as well during registration week.
