Device Settings for Internet Access

1. How to access KFUPM internet?


You will need to install Network certificate if you plan to use KFUPM Internet or if you connect your computer to a wired network port in a student housing or any public area (like a classroom or conference room).

For instructions on how to install certificate

         1.    Windows.

         2.   iOS.

         3.    Android.

 

2. How to install network certificates on windows?

 

1. Download certificate from here 

2. Choose a location to save the certificate and click Save.

3. open ZS-CA.cer,

4. Click the Install Certificate button.

 

 

 

 

5. The Certificate Import Wizard displays. Choose Local Machine and click Next.

 

 

 

 

6. Select Place all certificates in the following store. Click the Browse button and choose Trusted Root Certification Authorities. Click OK, and then click Next.

 

 

 

 

 

 

7. Click Finish.

 

 

 

17. An import successful window will appear. Click OK.

 

 


Note: If a Security Warning displays, click Yes.

18. You will return to the main Certificate window. Click OK.

 

 

 

19. You are done.


 

3. How to install network certificates on iOS?


Note:

*      You CANNOT install certificates on the mobile device without creating a passcode for it. This feature cannot be changed, as it is an iOS design configuration setup by Apple and not KFUPM.

 

 

1. Download certificate from here​ 

2. Open ZS-CA.cer

3. On the Install Profile screen select Install. 

 

 

 

 

4. Enter the passcode you set for your device. 

 

 

 

 

The next screen may display a warning that the Certificate Authority will add the certificate to the list of trusted certificates on your device. This should not affect any of your personal settings. To continue, select Install at the top right to proceed. 

 

 

 

5. The “ZS-CA.cer” certificate should now be installed.

 

 

7. Done.

 

4. How to install network certificates on Android?

 

NOTE:

       * You CANNOT install certificates on the mobile device without setting pin, pattern, or password for your device. This feature cannot be changed, as it is an adnroid design configuration setup by Google and not KFUPM.

 

 

1. Download certificate from here. 

2. Open your device's Settings appicon2.png.

3. Tap Security & location/Security & fingerprintand thenand then Advancedicon3.pngand then Encryption & credentials.

4. Under "Credential storage," tap Install from storage/sdcard.

5. In the top left, tap Menu Menu.

6. Under "Open from," tap where you saved the certificate.

7. Tap the file. (If needed, enter the key store password. Tap OK.)

8. Type a name for the certificate.

9. Pick VPN and apps or Wi-Fi.

10. Tap OK.​​​​
