Date: 12 February, 2020
Time: 03:30 pm – 4:30 pm
Location: Building 22, Room 134
Speaker:
Mohamed Ibrahim
Abstract:
The widespread of Internet of Things (IoT) combined with the rise of rich cloud services have prepared the horizon to a new emerging computing paradigm, edge computing, which stands for performing computations at the edge of the network. Edge computing calls to tackle multiple industrial concerns such as real-time needs, transmission bandwidth cost, battery life constraints and data security. In this seminar, Mohamad will introduce edge computing concept and address main drives behind adopting such model in the industry and academia. The talk will also cover several use cases and applications of such technology in multiple industrial segments.
