Abstract:

In the era of industry 4.0, systems are well equipped with modern tools; therefore, most of the systems are highly reliable, efficient and cost-effective. However, some systems are still facing unexpected events, which are causing high maintenance and repair costs. Such events can be defects, breakdowns, or significant deterioration of the components. Usually, the reliability and lifetime of a system are dependent on the lifetime and deterioration of its components. Therefore, it is often of interest to detect changes in the lifetime of a system by evaluating the counts of events or time-between-events (TBE). This talk will mainly focus on the surveillance of TBE data, which has become increasingly popular in recent years, e.g., in monitoring production lines, syndromic surveillance, cybercrime monitoring, and social network monitoring. Unfortunately, in literature, very few methods are available for bivariate TBE monitoring, and they are designed in such a way that they are facing build-in delay in the monitoring. So, to overcome this build-in delay, we have developed a novel bivariate TBE (BTBE) method under several bivariate lifetime distributions (i.e., Gumbel's Bivariate Exponential, Marshall Olkin Bivariate Exponential and Marshal Olkin Bivariate Weibull). We have derived the analytical expression for the BTBE control limits and provided the performance evaluation of the BTBE chart and its comparison with the existing MEWMA chart in terms of average time-to-signal. Further, the proposed BTBE method is implemented on a real-life dataset related to AIDS to highlight the importance of the stated proposal.
