Abstract:
Reinforcement learning is an area of machine learning concerned with how intelligent agents take actions in an environment to maximize long-term rewards. These agents behave according to a Markov decision process (MDP) policy that models the agent's reward/punishment. Additionally, the agent's policy can be optimized using linear and/or nonlinear programming (as well as other methods). In this talk, I will go through the aspects of reinforcement learning that are relevant to ISE and, specifically, operation research.
Speaker Bio:
Engr. Alhassan Aldabbagh received his BSc. in Industrial and Systems Engineering in 2020 from KFUPM and is currently pursuing an MSc. in the same field. His interests are in operations research and machine learning.
