The chairman welcomes you to the home page of the Department of City and Regional Planning. The world as we all know is facing all kinds of challenges. The issues of national urban population growth, environmental degradation, global warming, hunger, lack of housing are all issues which confront our  governments daily. As city planners we are  poised to play a significant role in the challenges of managing our various communities. We do not only supply technical expertise and advise to  governments but we are also in the forefront  of generating solutions to the anticipated  problems of tomorrow. 

At the City and Regional Planning Department of the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, our philosophy is to train planners who would serve as the vanguard of change in their various societies. Our products are well grounded  in their training and they have never had problems in securing positions either in government or in the private sector.
