The program aims at supporting and promoting the research activities in Graduate Studies in Universities and Colleges
 
inside the Kingdom in order to help promoting and training students in different research disciplines and increase their
 
academic and scientific abilities and make use of them in the national progress of the Kingdom. This will be achieved
 
through financial grants which will help graduate students in implementing and completing their research
 
in their graduate studies requirements.

 
The following lists the application eligibility conditions:

 

      1.   The applicant has to be an MS or PhD student at the University.

      2.   The research proposal should be in one of the applied scientific areas.

          3.   The research proposal should be approved by the University.
          4.   The student should have completed 50% of the course requirements of the degree with good standing.


Based on the above criteria, the following categories of graduate students are invited to apply for the grant:

  • Students with approved theses proposals by the Deanship of Graduate Studies.
  • Students who have finished more than 50% of their coursework, and have a clear pre-proposal and work plan for the thesis (even if the thesis proposal has not been submitted).This pre-proposal has to be approved by the student advisor and the Department Chairman.

  • The proposal submission procedure is as follows:
  • Get an endorsement letter from the Deanship of Graduate Studies by submitting your proposal as approved by the Thesis Advisor, Department Chairman and the Deanship of Graduate Studies (use thesis proposal form). The last day for submitting your request is Sat. November 14, 2008.
  • Submit the proposal and all supporting documents (as attached) to the office of the Vice-Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research by Mon. November 16, 2008.
