Apart from ISI List of
Journals which is adopted by KFUPM as the main reference for publications
quality, other non-ISI Journals of high quality
in different disciplines
have been introduced
by the Scientific Council, in
consultation with all concerned Departments and Centers, on the basis of
uniform minimum criteria for acceptance of research publications in order to
ensure the high quality and impact of publications of KFUPM
faculty/researchers and for various purposes
including promotion,
awards, university support for conference attendance, consideration as
outcomes of funded research projects, annual evaluation and related
evaluations.
Subsequently, the Council made the
following recommendation which has been approved by H.E. the Rector as the
minimum criteria for acceptance of faculty publications:
1. Engineering and Sciences:
All ISI listed
journals and journals which are rated B and above in the ERA (Excellence in
Research for Australia) journal ranking systems.
2. Industrial
Management:
All ISI listed
journals and journals which are rated B and above in the ERA (Excellence in
Research for Australia) journal ranking systems, in addition to journals
rated 3 and above based on the Association of Business Schools, UK (ABS)
evaluation ratings. (See

3. Arabic and
Islamic Studies:
All ISI
listed journals and the list approved by the Scientific Council.
