The Deanship of Research organized the workshop for "Conducting Impactful Research" on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm, in Building 20 # 103. This workshop was aimed to serve as a platform for sharing experiences from highly cited and highly publishing researchers. It was anticipated to benefit faculty members and researchers towards improving the quality of their research outcomes and achieving excellence in research. The workshop was attended by a large number of faculty members and students in various field of expertise.
The Vice-Rector for Research, Dr. Sahel Abduljauwad, inaugurated the workshop by welcoming the participants to the first workshop about "Impactful Research". He thanked Dr. Al-Aqeeli and the Deanship of Research for the efforts in helping the faculty members and the students to improve and boost the quality of their publications. Dr. Nasser Al-Aqeeli was grateful to the Vice-Rector for Research for his continuous support to all the activities hosted by the Deanship of Research.
The speeches were delivered by Prof. Ibrahim Dincer, a distinguished professor at the University Of Ontario Institute Of Technology from Ontario, Canada and a Visiting Chair Professor at the Mechanical Engineering Department, KFUPM.
Prof. Saidur Rahman, a distinguished and chair professor at Center of Research Excellence – Renewable Energy, Research Institute, KFUPM.
Prof. Bekir Sami Yilbas, a distinguished professor from Mechanical Engineering Department, KFUPM. Finally, Prof. Salim Messaoudi, a distinguished professor from the Mathematical and Statistics Department.
The informative presentations from the distinguished professors were followed by a productive discussion with the participants to raise their comments, feedback, questions, etc. The participants were very appreciative and grateful with the knowledge imparted by the distinguished professors on how to conduct impactful research. The participants were able to ask questions to the speakers which were directly and professionally answered by the speakers. The interactions between the speakers and participants were overwhelming and turned out to be a successful workshop in providing useful tips and awareness on how to be a leading researcher in their area of expertise.
Dr. Al-Aqeeli was very thankful for the success of the workshop and he hoped that the knowledge shared by the speakers will be used and served as a motivation to be an outstanding researcher.
