 B. S. in Aerospace Engineering (Applied Option)

The Applied Aerospace Engineering degree is designed to cover all fundamental aspects of Aerospace Engineering. The curriculum contains general education courses in the areas of Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Islamic and Arabic Studies, English and Physical Education similar to the Aerospace Engineering Science Option. In addition, the curriculum places extra emphasis on courses of practical importance such as AE 351 (Cooperative work). The industrial experience gained from the Cooperative Option is​ of immense value since it provides students with an important link between the theoretical and practical aspects of the Aerospace Engineering profession. The student mus​t spend 28 weeks in an industrial setting. During this period of training, the student writes pr​ogress reports rel​​evant to his work. After the prescribed time of training in industry, the student presents a seminar and submits a c​omprehensive technical report. The AE Department offers a variety of practically oriented elective courses, which include Aerospace System Maintenance, Aerospace Avionics, Astronautics, Flight Traffic Control and Safety.​

(1) AE Department's approval is required to take AE technical elective courses from Table A.

(2) AE Department's approval is required to take technical electivefrom Tables A, B, C and D.

(3) AE Department's approval is required to take these two General Studies courses mentioned in the paragraph following Table D.

(4) AE 350, AE 351, and AE 352 are the numbers of the same course, i.e., Aerospace Engineering Cooperative Work. The course duration is two semesters (one Summer and one semester before or after the Summer).​

(5) AE Department's approval is required to take science elective listed in Table C.
