1-Zamil
Steel Field Trip
The trip to Zamil Steel company
was organized by the ‘ARE’ club on Monday, November 20, 2017. In the
company, the students were introduced to various methods of steel design,
processing, and manufacturing. The trip was supervised by Dr. Ahmed Mohsen
Abdelfattah, the instructor of ARE 211, and several engineers from the
factory. The trip was aimed at bridging the knowledge gap between the theory
acquired from ARE 211 and actual field experience.

2. Pavilion Visit
The field trip to Pavilion Al Khobar site (Building under construction) was organized by the ARE club On Wednesday, 22 November 2017. Mr. Ahmad Sameer, an expert site engineer supervising the Pavilion project introduced various aspect of the site including the design, the conceptual idea, the contractors, client, and other relevant information. Later, Mr. Ahmad Sameer walked with the students through the project site explaining the construction details and building systems. The visitation was rounded up by question and answer session.

3- Cold
Steel Project Visit
The field trip to the Dr. Ali
Architects in Al-Hassa was also organized by the ARE Club on Thursday, December
14, 2017. The trip includes a presentation about cold steel construction and
vsistation to site where a building is being constructed using the cold steel technique,
which is a new technique in Saudi Arabia. The presentation was given by Dr.
Ali and Mr. Islam, a construction engineer in the consulting office.

4- King
Abdulaziz Center Visit
The field trip to the King Abdulaziz Center for World
Cultural Center was organized by the ARE club on Saturday, December 15, 2017.
The activities in the visit started by analyzing the building architectural
details, the design philosophy, landscape elements, and the organization of the
space. After that, the participants went inside to view the interior design and
building sections. King Abdulaziz Center contained many unique elements related
to the architectural design of museums.
