The Department of Architectural Engineering, ARE, was established in 1975 and makes one of the three main departments under the College of Environmental Design. The number of students enrolled in the ARE program is steadily growing over the years and have reached more than 40 lately. The ARE department offers two four-year programs, leading to a B.Sc. in Architectural Engineering after which the examined students, who which, may pursue graduate studies for a higher degree. The ARE department has adequate full-time faculty members engaged in teaching and in the responsibility of research activities conducted in various fields related to architectural engineering, as in building energy efficiency, HVAC systems design, construction management, acoustics, etc...
In this department, our goal is to produce high-quality graduates who will go to the professional field and excel in the building-related industries. As such, the training given to our students is beyond academic, with the aim to produce better graduates who will be excellent leaders in the future. At ARE Department, you will find very friendly and helpful Faculty and Staff members. They are highly motivated and hardworking individuals who are ever ready to assist and make your academic life easy and interesting. The ARE Department has the necessary state-of-the-art equipment and computing resources that make it a conducive-environment for learning and research.
