Title | Tale of Three Different Oxygen-Rich Ligands |
Abstract | Since the discovery of the hydrotris(pyrazolyl)borate anion (Tp) by Trofimenko in 1966, tripodal boron-centered ligands have become an active field of research. The primary areas of such research include developing new types of ligands with different donor atoms and the use of these ligands as "molecular vices" for transition and main group metals. The synthesis and structural characterization of a new type of boron based L2X ligand with facial oxygen donor atoms will be presented. Additionally, the use of these new compounds to house zirconium, forming pre-catalysts for olefin polymerization will be briefly discussed. Also we have extended scope of the research to include the synthesis of the first tetradentate tripodal [CO3] donor ligand that formally belongs to the L3X system. |
