Abstract: The quality of a developed product depends on the quality of the process being followed. As dependence on software systems for critical functions is increasing day by day, so is the importance of software quality. Software quality can seriously impact businesses of various organizations irrespective of the industry they belong. Due to this reason organizations started to improve their existing processes for developing software. Such improvisation of the existing processes is known as Software Process Improvement (SPI). This presentation aims to give the software practitioners a complete idea about SPI and also compares two of the most widely used SPI frameworks (i.e. CMMI and SPICE).
