You are cordially invited by the COE/ICS, to attend a Graduate Seminar, on the above given title, by Mr. Omar Alzuhaibi, MS Student, Information and Computer Science Department, 05th March, 2013, at 02:30 PM, in Building 22, Room 132.
Abstract: In this presentation, a model is proposed for finding the trilateral (three-lettered) Arabic root word of any given noun lemma. The model is trained using LibSVM library. We explain two different approaches: finding the whole root as a string, and finding it letter by letter; the latter showed significantly better results and has reduced dimensionality than the former. We also discuss the data preprocessing, the feature sets, and the experimental results.
About the speaker: Omar Alzuhaibi, MS student of Computer Science at KFUPM, BS in Electrical Engineering from KFUPM. I am Interested in Artificial Intelligence and Computational Linguistics. I am currently working on a number of projects related to Arabic Morphological and Syntactic Analysis. My goal is a global syntactic and semantic formal description of language.
