The Computer Engineering Department at KFUPM was established in 1986 and I was among the first batch of its graduates. Then, It started with an excellent undergraduate program and has developed over the years to become one of the leading disciplines in the region. The department offers a range of exciting undergraduate and graduate programs delivered by world-class faculty. Our learning environment supports students and also challenges their ability. Our courses provide a firm grounding in the concepts, knowledge, and skills that today's graduates need, and are frequently revised and updated to keep track of a rapidly changing field thereby leading to a successful Computer Engineering career shaping the future. Our undergraduate Computer Engineering program is ABET-accredited and is aligned with the 2016 IEEE/ACM BoK guidelines. Our labs are well established and are equipped with the latest equipment and tools. Our research excellence complements our curriculum and teaching. Students graduate from our department with a degree recognized and valued throughout the world. Computer Engineering graduates are well-positioned for providing innovative solutions to the industry as they are equipped with excellent competencies in computer systems spanning both software and hardware design, embedded systems, computer architecture, computer networking, and information security.

Since its establishment, our vibrant department has demonstrated excellence in research and has established strong links with leading industries in the areas of Computer Engineering and related fields to provide innovative solutions for problems faced by the industry. Employers like Saudi Aramco, SABIC, Saudi Telecom,  Ministry of Defense & Aviation, etc.,  actively reach out to our graduates for employment.  Career options open to our graduates are by no means limited to traditional IT companies. Computing is at the heart of revolutions in business, science, and society, transforming areas like medicine, biology, chemistry, and social science.
