Abstract: Nowadays Smart Grid considered as the next generation power grid. It uses two-way communication of electricity and information between the Utility and its consumer to create a distributed automated energy delivery network. In this seminar, I will go through introduction about Smart Grid (SG) and its majors sub-systems. Also I will explore the cyber security issues for the Smart Grid; particularly I will concentrate on security requirements, network vulnerabilities, attack countermeasures, secure communication protocols and architectures in the Smart Grid. Finally I will conclude this seminar by shedding light on future research directions for Smart Grid security.

About the speaker: Abdurraoof Salih is a full-time Master Student in COE, having graduated from the Al-Ahgaff University (Yemen) with a B.Sc. in Computer Science. He worked as Assistant Teacher in Al-Ahgaff University in the faculty of Computer Science & Engineering for two years, also he worked (part-time) as a Web Developer & Designer in E commerce Yemen Corporation Limited for one year.​​​
