​The department with its highly experienced and competent faculties specialized in a wide range of research areas is well equipped with GIS and Remote Sensing and other planning tools and techniques to offer consultancy services to government agencies and private enterprises, and training to the community in the areas where sustainable planning and development is required. Currently, the department is offering a number of professional short courses to educate and disseminate state-of-the-art knowledge in the following areas: GIS, Remote Sensing, disaster management, etc."​
