The undergraduate program “Applied Electrical Engineering” in the Department of Electrical Engineering is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org/.

​ Program Educational Objectives:
 
 The EE department has defined a set of program educational objectives that translates its mission into defined tasks. 
 The objectives are measures of the graduates' achievements 3 to 5 years after completing the program.
 The applied electrical engineering (AEE) program provides broad foundations to achieve the following objectives:

   1. Graduates will have a successful career in Electrical Engineeri​​ng.
   2. Graduates will advance to the position of leadership in their profession. 
   3. Graduates may pursue their professional development through self-learning and advanced degrees.
 
Student outcomes:

Student Outcomes are statements that describe what students are expected to know and be able to do by the time
 of graduation. They are related to skills, knowledge and behavior that students will acquire through the program.
 The Student Outcomes support the Program Educational Objectives.
   The student outcomes of the applied electrical engineering (AEE) program are as follows:
  (a)  Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering
  (b)  Design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data
  (c)  Design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs
  (d)  Function on multi-disciplinary teams
  (e)  Identify, formulate, and solve engineering problems
  (f)  Understand professional and ethical responsibility
  (g)  Communicate effectively
  (h)  Acquire the broad education necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a global and societal context
  (i)   Recognize the need for, and be able to engage in life-long learning
  (j)   Acquire knowledge of contemporary issues
