A group of ABB engineers visited the EE department on Tuesday, September 28, 2011 during the period 11:00-12:00. The group was composed of the following:
1. Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Saihati Manager, Sales and Marketing: Drives
2. Mr. Yousif Al-Saleh Manager, Services: Drives
3. Mr. Samir Fadda Manager, Local division
4. Mr. Venkat Rengamannar Manager, Local business unit
The group was greeted by Dr. Ali Al-Shaikhi, chairman of the EE department and the members of the energy system research group of the department.
The main purpose of the visit was to handover and deliver a donated Electronic 10 kW DC Drive to the department. ABB has donated the DC drive as part of the equipment for the research project, ‘Novel Tracking and Mitigation Strategies for Power Quality‘ currently being carried out by the energy research group.
Following the equipment handover, the ABB team held a meeting with EE chairman and members of the Energy system group to discuss avenues and opportunities for further collaborative research and cooperation.
