Lockout / Tagout
As per OSHA, "lockout/tagout refers to specific practices and procedures to safeguard employees from the unexpected energization or startup of machinery and equipment, or the release of hazardous energy during service or maintenance activities".
While performing the servicing and maintenance activity on any electrical equipment, the maintenance team must ensure to prevent the unexpected startup of the equipment by following lockout/tagout procedures.
Faulty Equipment:
If you encounter any faulty electrical device/equipment upon visual inspection, or while using it, kindly stop using the equipment and label it as "Faulty/Out of Service". Isolate the equipment and raise a request to the Maintenance Department to repair or replace the faulty equipment.
