The Department of Global & Social Studies was first founded in 2007 as the Department of General Studies and was re-emerged (and re-named) in December 2018 as the Department of Global & Social Studies.
The GS Department is an interdisciplinary department composed of experts from the fields of Cultural Anthropology, History, Political Sciences, Psychology and Sociology. Our diverse faculty are dedicated to providing a variety of enriching courses (instructed in English) to all KFUPM students. Course offerings include International Relations, Work and Society, Principles of Human Behaviors, Social Psychology, Cultural Anthropology, World Civilization, Principles of Sociology, Mass Media & Society, and Globalization, etc.
At present, we have more than nineteen faculty from different countries. More faculty members are expected to join and enrich our program.
