Computer science and engineering (CSE) is a discipline that covers all aspects of design and integration of computer systems. CSE is highly interdisciplinary, in the sense that there is hardly any branch of knowledge where computers have not penetrated as major tools in simplifying and obviating low-level, well-understood,automated procedures.Computer science and engineering refers to the study of theoretical computer science, software engineering, languages and systems, computer networks, parallel and distributed systems, artificial intelligence, computer architectures and design, VLSI systems, and their applications. The computer science and engineering Ph.D. program prepares engineers and scientists to carry out independent research and to analyze, design, and improve algorithmic and/or hardware solutions to practical problems. It draws on faculty from the Computer Engineering and Computer Science Departments.
