Two Year Course Offering Plan (2YP)

The ICS department is pleased to update the 2-Year Plan (2YP) that shows the undergraduate course offerings for coming 2 years (starting Term 131). The same pattern will be repeated with slight modification (if any) to meet students' demand. The students are expected to adhere to this plan in order to avoid any delay in their graduation. (See guidelines below)

The course offering given in the 2YP is a minimal set, the ICS department may offer more courses based on the enrollment and/or availability of resources.

* Elective courses may be replaced in some terms by (ICS 415/436/437/446/482/483) based on students/faculty request.

Guidelines: (for students and advisors)

  • Students are encouraged to plan for elective courses starting at their junior level (3rd year) in order to register their desired elective courses according to the 2YP.
  • The ICS department my offer more (core and elective) courses in some semesters subjected to availability of resources and students’ enrolment, and it may cancel one or more of the planned (elective) courses due to low enrolment and/or limitation of resources.

For CS Major:

  • ICS309, ICS411 and SWE311 are low enrolment courses and therefore they will be offered once a year. Other core courses are offered every semester.
  • Students who are expected to graduate within a year must register these four courses as soon as they are offered in order to graduate as expected.
  • Students with COOP option must register ICS309 at least two years before the expected date of graduation (for the COOP starts in summer and blocks the last Fall).
  • If the COOP is to be taken in the Spring, ICS410 should be taken before the COOP.
