The Information and Computer Science (ICS) department organizes for the first time a CyberSecurity competition CTF (Capture The Flag), managed by the TechBench student club and sponsored by SaharaNet company.
Capture The Flag is a CyberSecurity competition where participants solve Hacking and Security related challenges. Each challenge ends by capturing a flag (a random message) which brings additional points. Challenges belong to different categories: Web security, digital forensics, Cryptography, etc. The event starts by easy challenges and moves gradually towards harder ones. The holder of the highest score wins the competition.
Participating in CTF requires some basic CyberSecurity knowledge (Base64 decoding, basic crypto algorithms, known web security issues: SQL Injection, XSS, etc.). However, most of CS, SWE, COE students can get ready for the participation by practicing in these websites that contain similar challenges:
