Calculus Award


 

  • Description and eligibility of the award:

    The Calculus Courses (Math 101, Math 102, Math 201) are of fundamental importance to all disciplines of science, engineering, and business as they develop critical thinking and enhance problem solving skills. The objective of such award is to promote interest of the students and heighten their performance in calculus courses.  Moreover, the recognition of the excellent achievers in the calculus courses encourages competition among the students and gives an opportunity to the Mathematics and Statistics Department to attract good students

      There are two types of award:

    • First type: A recognition trophy after completing the calculus sequence (all three courses) with an excellent record in all of them. The award will be given to the TOP 5 students by adding the scores in the three courses. If more than 5 students qualify, their final exam scores are taken into account.

       
    • Second type: A certificate for excellent achievers in each of the calculus courses, namely, Math 101, Math 102 and Math 201. A certificate will be awarded to the TOP 10 A+ students in each course. If more than 10 students qualify, their final exam scores are taken into account.
