Speaker's Bio:

Nick Stefani is in Academic Development in Ansys UK. He took his Bachelor of engineering from the University of Pisa in Italy before enrolling at the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow, UK) in a Master of Science in Advanced manufacturing engineering and consequently an Engineering doctorate in FEM and microstructure modelling of nickel superalloys' hot forging processing. After a stint working as a researcher and teaching assistant at Strathclyde, he joined the academic team at Ansys supporting the use of Edu Pack and Discovery in education and developing teaching resources.

Mr. Sarfaraz Ahmed Furquan delivered a short course on "Stress Analysis using SolidWorks SimulationXpress" organized by ME Club:

Mr. Sarfaraz Ahmed Furquan delivered the short course on Monday, 31st October, 2022 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. The course covered the SoildWorks SimulationXpress basic functionality to perform a design stress analysis on a 3D model. The interpretation of the analyzed results such as von-Mises stresses, resultant displacement, deformation and factor of safety were discussed in detail. An example to use the analysis to save/optimize material on a 3D model was illustrated using SolidWorks SimulationXpress. Other examples were discussed to address different design intent using the above tool in SolidWorks. It was followed by a Q&A session.
