Description:

Basic theory of NMR will be introduced briefly and emphasis will be on various one-dimensional and two-dimensional experimental techniques. 1H and 13C NMR will be discussed with particular reference to polymers and petrochemical applications. The principles and application of solid state NMR will be discussed with special reference to polymers and zeolites. The course will involve theoretical as well as laboratory sessions. Course outlines are: 1. The Physical Basis of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance  2. Proton NMR Analysis  3. Pulsed FT NMR 4. NMR Instrumentation 5. Carbon-13 NMR  6. Relaxation and NOE  7. Solid State NMR  8. Applications in Polymers and Catalysts

This course is designed for professional chemists and chemical engineers working in petrochemical and polymer industry and research centers, who wish to obtain and interpret NMR spectra.
