Corrosion & Corrosion Protection in Industry
College of Applied Engineering Mechanical Engineering
Following topics will be covered: Impact of corrosion on health safety and economy. Identification of types of corrosion and case histories. Mechanisms of corrosion. Materials selection for corrosion. Corrosion prevention methods: cathodic protection, inhibition, coatings, corrosion control by design. Course Objectives: To equip the working engineers with a basic knowledge of understanding, identification and corrosion control in industry. Presentation: The latest audio-tutorial and computerized techniques would be used for presentation of course material. Lecture would be supplemented by classroom demonstration.
This course is designed for practicing engineers, senior technicians and management personnel interested in corrosion control.
