The course explores the available tools and techniques for building Web applications. These applications provide a web-based interface to database systems and online transaction systems. State management, security and scalability issues are considered. Main topics are: (i) Overview of HTML (ii) Overview of HTTP and CGI (iii) Server-Side vs. Client-Side Scripting (iv) JavaScript vs. VBScript (v) Using SQL (vi) ASP Form Processing (vii) Using ASP for database (viii) query and update (ix) Using components (x) Introduction to ASP.Net
This course is targeted for Web Site administrators and developers. Basic knowledge about the workings of the Web and HTML is assumed.
