The course introduces the concepts of concurrency, problems, and synchronization techniques to the participants, who want to improve the response time and performance of their application program. This course is a practical guide for software developers/programmer to analysis the performance of multithreaded synchronization techniques. The Solaris/pthread library will be used for hand-on practices but the concepts discuss in this course are independent of any programming language. The application of concurrency in distributed application using PVM and MPI will be address in detail.
Engineers and programmers working on high-performance/software-engineering applications in various industries, including: oil, minerals, chemical, as well as IT.
