Building Foundations: Analysis, Design, and Repair
College of Applied Engineering Civil Engineering
The objective of this course is to give the practicing civil engineers the basic information in the areas of analysis, design, and repair of building foundations. The course outline includes: review of basic principles of soil and rock mechanics, subsurface investigation, ground improvement, bearing capacity, settlements, shallow foundations, deep foundations, repair of foundations, and case studies. The course format will be a combination of lectures, group discussions, and tutorials activities.
All civil engineers will benefit from attending this course, especially those who are involved in the analysis, design, construction, inspection, and repair of building foundations and buried structures.
