Standing Committees
1. Graduate Program Committee
Dr. M. A. Kousa (Chairman)
Duties:
Development of Graduate Program Policies. Structure of Graduate Curricula.
Graduate Examination (Entrance and Comprehensive). Monitoring Graduate
Students Progress and Degree Plans. Resolving Graduate Student Petitions.
Readmission and transfer of Graduate students.
2. Graduate Admission Committee
Dr. M. Andalusi (Chairman)
Duties:
Evaluation of graduate applications and recommendations to graduate program.
Review and update graduate needs for the department. Help in out-reach the
program (when implemented). Identify targets and directions. Study
input/observations/statistics from other related committees.
3. Curriculum Committee
Dr. M. Deriche (Chairman)
Duties:
Supervise the modification, update, and restructuring of EE curricula.
Supervise the introduction of new courses. Review of double degree student
submissions. Review of proposals for new/modified degrees from other
departments. Preparation and update of UG material. provided to the
administration for the KFUPM bulletin.
4. Laboratory Supervision and Development Committee
Dr. M. Al-Absi (Chairman)
Duties:

Lab supervision: Look after technicians, acquiring of parts and
equipments, budgeting and processing all price quotations and PR’s.

Lab development: Follow up status of lab manuals, instructors, equipment and
providing recommendations to fix problems in any laboratory.
5. Planning Committee
Dr.
M. Dawood (Chairman)
Duties:
Planning course scheduling and major exams coordination for each semester.
6. Faculty Search Committee
Dr. M. Al-Sunaidi (Chairman)
Duties:
Evaluation of faculty position applications. Review and update faculty needs
for the department.
7. Advisory Committee
Dr. S. Abdul-Jauwad (Chairman)
Duties:
Look into the strategic planning for the Department. Consolidate the
cooperation between the Department and the related industrial and
engineering organizations in order to create the proper environment and
provide the required resources for the fulfillment of the educational and
industrial missions. Establish close contacts with the department alumni.
8.
Program Assessment Committee
Dr. M. Dawoud (Chairman)
Duties:
Prepare materials needed for ABET and other organization accreditation.
9. Student Advising/Activities Committee
Dr. M. Kassas (Chairman)
Duties:
Follow-up with Graduate Assistants on
Scholarship Review students performance (specially students on probation),
develop advising guidelines, develop ways and means for
helping students with low GPA to improve their status. Reciging visiting
groups of students. Preparation for EE Career Day. Following the activities
of EE Club.
