A word to the student

King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals is a highly regarded centre of learning, both within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and internationally. An effective mastery of English is a significant attribute for any student who aspires to fill a top position in the Kingdom’s public or private sectors and we expect you to strive, throughout your time here, to improve your ability to communicate effectively in this language.

Because we place such great emphasis on achieving and maintaining the highest standards possible,  we have introduced the English Proficiency Test as one of a number of measures intended to bring about an overall improvement in your ability to communicate effectively in English.

It is only when you are aware of what your real standard is that you can take appropriate measures to improve it either by taking additional courses or through self-study. We hope that the test will make a significant contribution towards the achievement of this goal.
