(d) Free Elective Courses

Each student must take
three free electives to a total of nine credit hours, after consultation with
his advisor. The free elective courses should be 200-level or higher.
(e) Summer Training (GEOL
399, 2 credit hours)
Each student must work
as a trainee geologist for a period of a total of eight weeks in an
organization/company that conducts geological activities, after which he must
submit a written report and make an oral presentation, based on his training in
the organization.

total required credits for the B.S. degree in Geology is 124 semester–credit
