Graduate Program: Financial Assistance

The College of Graduate Studies financially supports its graduate students through three different types of assistantships: the Graduate Assistantship (only for Saudi M.S. students), the Research Assistantship (for M.S. students), and the Lectureship for (Ph.D. students). The holder of any assistantship is expected to perform certain duties related to teaching and/or research assignments and tasks approved by the department. The graduate student’s continued employment is subject to his satisfactory performance which among others, the following aspects of his performance are evaluated:

  1. Ability to maintain or surpass KFUPM academic standards.
  2. Capacity to handle the prescribed course load as follows:

  1. Achievements in research activities as reported by his project director and/or his thesis advisor every semester.
  2. Diligence in performing assigned duties as evaluated and reported by his supervisor.
