 Objectives
  1. To teach the students to measure oil well cementing properties.
  2. To provide research facilities to faculty and graduate students

Functions

This laboratory is mainly used for teaching purposes. It is equipped with modern instruments and  is extensively used for the following purposes:

  1. Measurement of important cement, rheological, and physical properties such as density, fluid loss, thickening time, and water cement ratio under high pressure and temperature.
  2. Studying the effect of accelerators and retarders on cement slurries.
  3. Measurement of compressive strength and permeability of cement plugs.
  4. Development of new additives for special applications such as elevated temperature and high influx of electrolytes.
