On Monday 11th April 2016, HE Dr. Khaled S. Al-Sultan, Rector of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals inaugurated the preparing meeting for the 7th Student Conference which lasted for two days.
KFUPM Rector and a number of its officials reviewed the students' projects. In this meeting, the students gave short presentations about their projects, which included a number of student activities, such as community service, innovations, art, entrepreneurship, public speaking, scientific research, documentaries.
Dr. Mesfer Al-Zahrani, Dean of Student Affairs, pointed that the forum aims to develop students' skills in a number of scientific and creative fields, and that the forum theme concentrated on the philosophy of the university experience. KFUPM is eager teach this experience to its students, in addition to academic excellence, the acquisition of personal skills and developing the behavioral aspects of leadership characters.
Numerous participations were received and sorted by a jury following restricted standards. The participations were not limited to the scientific aspects but they were in a number of technical and creative areas that are part of the student activity at the university. KFUPM firmly emphasize on activating these events through student clubs. He added
Dr. Al-Zahrani said that the forum is a platform for students to showcase their talents, create a competitive environment to develop the students' skills, provides them with the necessary skills and disseminate a culture of research, innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship and community service.
He explained that best posts in all areas will be sorted for the 7th Student Conference.
