Mr. Mohammed Alghadeer, a double-major student in Physics and Electrical Engineering has earned a first place in the Winter Enrichment Program (WEP 2020) competition, Computer, Electrical and Mathematical Sciences Division, held at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) on 12-23 January 2020, for his work titled “Improving Quality Factors of Superconducting Coplanar Wave Guide Resonators for Quantum Computing Processors”.
The competition involved more than 30 participants that were chosen among 500 applicants from different universities around the world, including Caltech, UCB, etc. The event was one of the many events hosted at the Winter Enrichment Program (WEP) 2020 held at Thuwal, KAUST. WEP 2020 was hosted for 2 weeks, where 1330 speakers delivered their talks on various themes. A total of 2530 students participated in the event.
The field of Quantum Computing is the future of computing technologies. Mr. Ghadeer spent previous summer at the University of California Berkeley at the Quantum Lab learning about this new technology. KFUPM is proud of our diligent student and wish him best of luck for the future.
